Parent Teacher Association - PTA (external site)
PTA general membership meetings and special programs are scheduled throughout the school year. Check the school calendar for dates.
Collect "Box Tops for Education" (external site) from General Mills products. The PTA earns cash for the Box Tops. Put the Box Tops in an envelope with your child's name and his/her teacher's name on it, then have your child put it in the box in his/her classroom. Each month, every student who brings in ten or more Box Tops will be entered into a drawing for a prize. The class that brings in the most Box Tops at the end of each quarter will bet an ice cream sundae party. At the end of the school year, the child who brings in the most Box Tops will win the grand prize.

Read the "Bear Essentials" parent newsletter for current PTA information and activities.

School Advisory Committee - SAC
The School Advisory Committee, whose existence was established by Congress, is made up of six elected members - three parents and three teachers. Additional liaison members, such as the administration and the military commander or his/her designee, also attend the meetings.
SAC meets at least quarterly to discuss suggestions, issues, and problems and to make recommendations to the principal. All parents and teachers are encouraged to attend our meetings. A brochure explaining SAC is available.
The Installation Advisory Committee (IAC) is composed of a parent and an educator from each Wiesbaden community school who serves on the local SAC. The IAC meets four times a year to consider suggestions, issues, and problems common to all schools in the Wiesbaden MILCOM.
Volunteers in the School
Volunteers, especially parents (moms and dads) are always welcome in the school.

Volunteers are an integral part of our school program and provide extra benefits that otherwise would not be part of the curriculum.

Contact your child's teacher for volunteering in his/her classroom. Contact the office or PTA member for other volunteering opportunities within the school.
Some ways that volunteers could give service to our school are:

Assist in the Media Center
Work with reading groups or read with individual students
Type and run copies for the teacher
Share special talents
Assist in the computer lab
Assist in the preventative dentistry program
Vision screening of students
Home room mom/dad
Lunchroom/recess monitor
